The table is one large diagram that displays all your betting options. The center has what is called the “Hardways” and the “One Roll” betting section. On each side of that middle section is a mirrored diagram of the other bets. Have a look at the table and feel comfortable with the layout before you get started. In a traditional game of craps up to 8 players can join and the “Shooters” (the one throwing the dice) take turns around the table. The dice must be tossed to that they hit the table wall at the opposite end of the table. The basic betting structure works as follow: Pays are 1 to 1, when you bet on the Pass Line you bet that a 7 or 11 is rolled on the Shooter’s first roll. If instead anywhere between a 4-8 or a 9 or 10 is rolled, this is called the “Point”. The Pass Line bet is now whether or not that particular Point that is rolled will be rolled again before a 7 is rolled. (When two dice are rolled the probability that a 7 will be rolled is always higher than any other combination.)

Another type of bet is called the Don’t Pass bet which also pays 1 to 1 and this bet is that the Come Out Roll (the shooter’s first roll) will either be a 2, a 3 or a 12. If a 4-6 or an 8-10 is rolled as the Point, the bet is then that the Point won’t come up again before a 7.

A Come is a bet that works the same a Pass Line bet with the exception that this bet can be called after the Come Out Roll (which means once you already know what the Point it). This bet is that a Point will be rolled before a 7. Don’t Come, another bet, is the same as a Don’t Pass bet, however in a similar style to the Come bet, you place this bet after the Come Out roll and this bet is that the Point won’t be rolled before a 7.

Craps Out is a what happens when a Point has already been established a the Shooter rolls a 7 and this means that that player’s turn is over and the next player has a chance to shoot. Place Bets are made on 4-6 and 8-10 where the chosen betting number needs to be rolled before a 7. Players can place this particular bet only after the Come Out roll. This bet can be removed or the amount on it can be lessened at any point before it’s won (or lost). The Big 6 or Big 8 sections of the table come into play for Big 6 or Big 8 bets. These are bets that the chosen number will come up before a 7 does.
